Tier Distribution shows you where your Frequency Tier sits across the ENCODED member base. You'll find it on the web app, on your Frequency Map.
Why we built it
In health, we're used to seeing our numbers in context — a resting heart rate means more when you know the range. Frequency works the same way. Tier Distribution gives your tier a reference point.
It's there to do three things: give you further insight, help you track progress over time, and let you celebrate when you move.
How to read it
Your position in the distribution is a snapshot of where you are right now, in this cycle. It is not a ranking, a grade, or a measure of how well you're doing the work.
The important part
Your journey and your results are yours. Where anyone else sits in the distribution changes nothing about the shift you're building.
The reason we say this plainly: benchmarks are useful right up until they become a comparison you measure yourself against. If you notice Tier Distribution pulling your attention toward how you stack up rather than how you're moving, come back to your own progress and your own wins. That's the measurement that matters.
Will my position change?
Yes — as you train, and as your tier is re-scored at each Frequency Mapping.
One thing worth knowing: Frequency Mapping v3 will improve the accuracy of the tier scoring algorithm, so your tier may read differently once v3 goes live. That's the calculation getting sharper, not your training slipping. We'll notify you when it's released.
