Does ENCODED Offer Refunds?

ENCODED doesn't offer refunds. What that means for the 90-day program, subscriptions, Immersion, and credits — and what to do about a billing error.

Short answer: no. ENCODED doesn't offer refunds on the 90-day program or on any membership plan. Cancelling stops future charges rather than returning past ones, and there's no money-back window.

The one exception is physical goods — unused journals bought from the shop can be returned. Details below.

We'd rather say that plainly up front than have you discover it later. Here's how it applies to each part of the system.

The 90-day program

The $499 is non-refundable. It covers your 90 days, and we can't return it once you've enrolled — so please be sure before you start.

We're direct about this for a reason. The program works because you commit to the full 90 days. A shorter exit window would undercut the thing that makes it effective.

On day 91 your membership continues automatically on Digital at $79/month, billed monthly from then on. If you'd rather it didn't, cancel the renewal from Membership in the app any time during your 90 days: you keep full access through the end of your 90 days and nothing further is charged. Cancelling stops future charges — it doesn't refund the $499.

Subscriptions

You can cancel a Digital or Core membership any time before your next renewal:

  • Your access continues to the end of the term you've already paid for

  • Cancelling stops all future charges

  • We don't issue partial or prorated refunds on a term already begun

Cancelling and changing plans are both self-serve — see How to Cancel or Adjust Your ENCODED Plan.

Immersion

Immersion is custom-scoped and doesn't auto-renew, so its terms are agreed as part of your arrangement. Check the terms you were sent, or email [email protected].

Standalone Anchor Journals

Journals bought on their own from the Journal shop are physical goods, so they work differently from memberships. Sealed, unused journals can be returned within 14 days of delivery for a refund minus shipping. Used journals can't be returned.

If a journal arrives damaged, empty, or incomplete, that's not a return — we'll simply replace it. See What If My Anchor Journal Arrives Damaged, Empty, or Incomplete?

This applies only to standalone shop purchases. Journals included with a membership or with the 90-day program are part of that plan and aren't separately refundable.

Gift cards and referral credits

Gift cards and referral credits are account credit rather than cash, so they can't be refunded or paid out. They don't expire.

If you think a charge is wrong

A billing error isn't the same thing as a refund request, and we do want to hear about it. Get in touch if you see:

  • A duplicate charge

  • A payment you didn't authorise or don't recognise

  • A discount or gift card that didn't apply correctly

  • A charge taken despite a cancellation you'd already completed

Email [email protected] with the email on your account, the charge date and amount, and a short note on what happened. We'll investigate and correct anything that's genuinely our error, usually within one to two business days.

How to cancel

Cancellation is self-service:

  • Log in at app.encoded.ai

  • Go to MembershipManage Subscription

  • Select Cancel Membership

The same place is where you cancel or change your day-91 renewal during the 90-day program. As long as you cancel before your next billing date, you won't be charged again. For the full walkthrough, see How to Cancel or Adjust Your ENCODED Plan.

What about failed payments?

Failed payments don't trigger refunds. Instead, there's a 7-day grace period to update your payment method before access pauses. Full details: What Happens If My Payment Fails?

Summary

  • Refunds aren't offered on the program or on memberships. Cancelling stops future charges; it doesn't return past ones.

  • The 90-day program: the $499 is non-refundable. Your membership then continues automatically on Digital at $79/month, and cancelling that renewal during your 90 days stops anything further being charged.

  • Subscriptions: cancel any time before renewal; access runs to the end of the paid term, with no partial or prorated refund

  • Immersion: custom-scoped and doesn't auto-renew, so terms are agreed as part of your arrangement

  • Standalone journals: sealed and unused, returnable within 14 days of delivery for a refund minus shipping

  • Failed payments: 7-day grace period, no refund

  • Gift cards and referral credits: account credit, not refundable or payable in cash, and they don't expire
